Five setups do not have to mean five different printers. These configurations answer two separate questions: how much print space you need, and whether you want automatic color changes. We selected them because each is already traceable to an exact US store variant in our starter-cost research. This is a limited comparison, not a market-wide ranking or a hands-on test.

The prices below are October 1, 2026 US observations, rechecked against exact selected offers alongside the starter-cost guide. They are listed prices, not delivered checkout quotes. Every cart includes one additional retail kilogram of spooled PLA; tax and shipping are extra.

The five configurations

US examples from October 1, 2026; includes an extra 1 kg spool, before tax and shipping
SetupCart subtotalWhat changes
A1 mini, printer only$237.99180 mm nominal build volume on each axis; no automatic color unit
A1 mini Combo with AMS lite$347.99The same printer envelope, with automatic filament handling
P1S, printer only$417.99An enclosure and larger nominal envelope; no AMS in this selection
Enhanced Kobra S1 ACE 2 Pro Combo$474.99250 mm nominal build volume on each axis; ACE 2 Pro included
P1S AMS Combo$567.99The P1S with AMS; a different bundle from printer-only and AMS 2 Pro versions

The first, second, third and fifth rows use Bambu PLA Basic Jade White, 1 kg with spool, not the refill. The fourth uses Anycubic PLA Basic Black, 1 kg spooled. Its link must select the Enhanced ACE 2 Pro configuration, not the older classic ACE Pro bundle.

When the smaller cart is enough

Start your comparison with the A1 mini printer-only if you want small, single-color projects and the actual printable parts fit its 180 mm bed. In this limited set it had the lowest observed cart subtotal. That establishes a dated purchase-cost advantage, not a print-quality or reliability verdict. A smaller bed can become the wrong saving if your intended one-piece part does not fit.

When automatic color handling matters

The A1 mini Combo keeps the smaller printer and adds AMS lite. The two other color-equipped setups here use larger, enclosed printers. Compare the whole arrangement, including the separate filament unit and its operating clearance. Automatic color changes are optional for a single-color clip or organizer.

An enclosure is a feature, not proof that ventilation is unnecessary. The P1S advertised envelope is 256 × 256 × 256 mm; Bambu Studio defaults its height to 250 mm, as documented in the starter guide. A nominal envelope is not a promise that a model will print successfully.

Make the decision in this order

Choose a real downloadable part, check its oriented dimensions, then decide whether automatic color changes matter. Reopen the exact variant and filament links before comparing delivered totals. A price headline that mixes a printer-only offer with a multicolor bundle hides the decision you actually need to make.

Use the three-model comparison for build volume and material support. Choose a spooled roll or a refill that your setup can feed, then use the budget planner with your actual quote. Store the opened roll according to our storage guide.
